FlowFetch Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 8, 2026. This policy explains what FlowFetch accesses, what Lumarc Studio collects, and how torrent/magnet networking and Status Saver folder access work.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how FlowFetch handles information when you use the app. FlowFetch is an Android download manager for direct files, torrent files and magnet links, with a local Status Saver tool. Please read this policy alongside the FlowFetch Terms of Use and the FlowFetch Responsible Use & Copyright page.

2. Developer identity

FlowFetch is developed by Lumarc Studio. Privacy questions can be sent to [email protected] .

3. Information FlowFetch accesses

To perform the transfers you start, FlowFetch accesses:

  • The direct file, torrent file or magnet link URL you provide.
  • Torrent metadata (file names, sizes and piece data) needed to display file selection and download the files you choose.
  • A save destination folder you choose using Android's system folder picker, so FlowFetch can write downloaded files there.
  • A status-media folder you choose using Android's system folder picker, so Status Saver can read and let you save media already present in that folder.

4. Information FlowFetch collects

Lumarc Studio does not operate FlowFetch account services and does not receive your downloaded files, torrent contents, saved Status Saver media, or the folders you select. Download and transfer records (such as file name, size, source link, progress and status) are stored locally on your device in an app-private database so FlowFetch can show your transfer history and resume interrupted transfers. Lumarc Studio does not have access to this local database.

5. Information FlowFetch does not collect

FlowFetch does not include analytics, advertising or crash reporting software development kits (SDKs) as of the effective date above. FlowFetch does not require or support user accounts, and does not ask for your name, email address or payment details to use core functionality. This section will be updated if that changes in a future release, and the version history of this page will reflect the change.

6. Local file and storage access

FlowFetch uses Android's Storage Access Framework. When you pick a download destination or a Status Saver folder, Android shows its own system folder picker; FlowFetch only receives permission to read or write within the folder you explicitly selected. This permission is requested and stored on your device using Android's standard persistable URI permission mechanism, not transmitted to Lumarc Studio.

7. Torrent/network functionality

FlowFetch supports the BitTorrent peer-to-peer protocol for torrent files and magnet links you choose to open. Peer-to-peer protocols inherently exchange networking information — such as your device's IP address — with other participants necessary to complete a transfer, including peers, trackers and DHT (Distributed Hash Table) nodes. This exchange is a function of how the BitTorrent protocol works, is performed directly between your device and other network participants, and is not routed through or stored on Lumarc Studio servers. Lumarc Studio does not operate trackers or DHT infrastructure and does not collect peer connection data.

For direct HTTP/HTTPS downloads, FlowFetch connects directly to the server hosting the file you requested, in the same way a web browser would.

8. Status Saver folder access

Status Saver lets you view and save status photos and videos that are already present in a folder you select on your device using Android's system folder picker. Status Saver does not scrape, request or receive media from any remote server, and does not require network access to function. Media you view through Status Saver is read and processed locally on your device. If you choose to save a copy, it is written to a destination you choose on your device; no copy is uploaded to Lumarc Studio or any third party. You can revoke folder access at any time from Android Settings › Apps › FlowFetch › Permissions, or by selecting a different folder in FlowFetch.

FlowFetch is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by WhatsApp or Meta.

9. Notifications and background execution

With your permission, FlowFetch shows notifications for active, completed and failed downloads using Android's notification channels. FlowFetch uses a foreground service and Android's WorkManager to keep eligible transfers running in the background and to resume interrupted downloads, including after a device restart. Notification content is generated and shown entirely on your device.

10. Third-party services and libraries

FlowFetch is built with standard Android platform libraries (AndroidX, Jetpack Compose, Media3, Room, WorkManager), the OkHttp networking library for direct downloads, and the libtorrent4j library for torrent and magnet-link support. libtorrent4j implements the BitTorrent protocol locally on your device; see Section 7 for how peer-to-peer networking works. FlowFetch does not currently integrate third-party analytics, advertising or authentication services.

11. Analytics and crash reporting

FlowFetch does not currently include an analytics or crash reporting SDK. If Lumarc Studio adds analytics or crash reporting in a future release, this section will be updated to name the provider, the data involved and the purpose before that release is made available.

12. Data sharing

Lumarc Studio does not sell personal data and does not share local download records, saved Status Saver media, or selected folder contents with third parties, because Lumarc Studio does not receive that data. Peer-to-peer network exposure inherent to torrent protocols is described in Section 7.

13. Data retention

Download history, transfer settings and app preferences are retained locally on your device until you clear them in FlowFetch or clear app data/storage in Android Settings. Downloaded files and saved Status Saver copies remain in the destinations you chose until you delete them, independent of the app itself.

14. Data deletion

See the FlowFetch data deletion page for steps to clear transfer history, downloaded files, app cache, saved Status Saver copies and selected-folder permissions.

15. Security

FlowFetch stores local data in app-private storage protected by Android's application sandbox. Direct HTTP/HTTPS downloads and update checks use encrypted connections where the source server supports them; FlowFetch does not disable Android's cleartext traffic protections. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and FlowFetch cannot guarantee absolute security.

16. Children's privacy

FlowFetch is a general-purpose file transfer utility and is not directed to children. FlowFetch does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

17. International users

FlowFetch processes downloads and Status Saver media locally on your device. If you use torrent or magnet functionality, your device connects directly to peers and network participants that may be located in other countries, consistent with how the BitTorrent protocol operates. Local laws governing downloads and file sharing vary by location; see the Responsible Use & Copyright page.

18. Changes to this privacy policy

This policy may be updated as FlowFetch changes. Material changes will update the effective date above. Continued use of FlowFetch after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
